Mild infusion flu day

Thursday was the bone-strengthening infusion. Today is Saturday, and the infusion flu isn't too bad.

Another quick update:

  • Zometa infusion was Thursday. It strengthens my bones where the cancer has spread. To my surprise the appointment was at the North Georgia office when the past three ones were at the office at Memorial downtown. BUT the vein sticker was GREAT! For the first time the stick didn't even hurt. At all! The sticker gets an A+++++. I asked a friend to take me even though I could have driven myself. She's been good luck. Every time she's taken me when I have to be stuck it goes really well.

  • Infusion flu has been mild. For the first two times I felt terrible a couple of days after the infusion. Truly like having the flu. It wasn't as bad last time. This time might have been even a little milder.

  • Tuesday I see my pulmonologist. I'll tell him about not being able to tolerate Symbicort and find out if there are options. I've been using Albuterol as needed if I've been wheezing extra or wanting to go out and about and be more active. Some of my concern is that my mouth is a little raw most of the time, and the inhalers seem to aggravate that. I'll also try to get an explanation of the oddness in my pulmonary function test that my sleep doc noticed.

  • Up and down days and hours. I might be feeling fine physically, even good, and things might shift seeingly without any cause. My digestive system might flare with pain. Or I might just feel rotten in general. Emotionally sometimes I get "down." But that usually does't last long. Just a few hours in general. Some of that seems connected with how well I sleep. Too many nights I don't sleep deeply, don't get restorative sleep. When I do sleep deeply I feel so much better.

  • Tired and grouchy! This is me when I don't sleep well!

And that's my update for this week.
